If you are a gamer and love cars, I am pretty sure you will have at least 1 or 2 car racing games under your list, be it on Windows, PS4 or XBox. First, it kills off your free time when you have absolutely nothing to do, secondly, you are feeding on your interest and passion in cars. You get to modify and race virtually. Gaming can be addictive, so play moderately and prioritize on what’s important!

Need for Speed

Honestly, this was my first computer game I have gotten my hands on. The best part, you get to unlock at each stage and modify the car to your preference. Better known as NFS in short, it is a racing game created by Electronic Arts and currently developed by Ghost Games. There are different types of races where you need to complete to unlock a car or parts. This game series is one of the most successful video game franchise. Here are different types of versions of the Need for Speed game: Need for Speed 2, Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit, Need for Speed: High Stakes/Road Challenge, Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Need for Speed Underground, Need for Speed Underground 2, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed ProStreet, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed Shift& Nitro, Need for Speed The Run, Need for Speed No Limits, Need for Speed World, and the list goes on.

Project Cars

Developed by Slightly Mad Studios and distributed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Project Cars was released on May 2015. The game play is available on different platforms such as; Windows, PS4, & Xbox One. There are 30 unique locations to choose from with at least 110 different courses, of which 23 are real. The game allows player to choose from a variety of motorsports path and grants immediate access to all included tracks and vehicles. Project cars 2 is now in the run, which includes more tracks and modes.

Forza Motorsports

Forza, also means “Force” in Italian is another racing car game series. Divided into two series; The Original Forza Motorsports (Developed by Turn 10 Studios) & Forza Horizon (Developed by Playground Games), the game seeks to imitate the performance and handling of real life production modified racing cars. There are Forza Motorsports versions 1 until 7, and Forza Horizon 1 until 3. The gameplay is available for Xbox and Windows.

Gran Turismo

Gran Turismo (GT), also means “Grand Touring or Tourer” in Italian. The game series is developed by Polyphony Digital, produced by Kazunori Yamauchi and is developed for PlayStation. Similar to all other racing car games, this game became the highest selling video game franchise under the PlayStation brand. The sound of the vehicle’s engine is based on recordings of the actual vehicles. Players starts with a certain amount of credits, which are used to purchase vehicles and then tune their car at the parts store for best performance. Some of the releases includes; Gran Turismo (Demo Version), Gran Turismo 2000, Toyota Prius Demo, BMW-1 Series Demo, Nissan Micra Demo, Nissan 350z demo, Gran Turismo Academy Time Trial Demo, Tourist Trophy (Motorcycle racing game), and Gran Turismo for Boys.

Driveclub

This is one of my favourite PS4 game. Why? It is very user-friendly and great for beginners like me. However, you can choose your difficulty level in the game play. It is easy on control and handling with a good variety of tracks, added with different weather, making it look real. This game has gotten a fair share of good reviews from around the world. Developed by Evolution Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, the game initially experienced a delay during the launch, but it was finally released worldwide in October 2014.
