Adelaine Foo says, in gaining momentum and maintaining velocity women often forget to connect with the loved ones instead wasting away precious time to prove themselves worthy to others.

“How much money do you need to teach your children the infinite pleasure of a hug? I’m not saying (money) is not important and I’m not encouraging you not to have drive.

“Drive, for God’s sake! But not just drive. You have to practice R&R. I urge you to be present. Don’t be in a hurry to check off all the list on your timetable and forgot the purpose of doing it all,” she adds.

Foo spoke during TEDxKLWomen 2015 held at the Observation Deck of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Sepang on Thursday night.

“How much money do you need to teach your children the  infinite pleasure of a hug?”

WHAT IS TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

Our event is called TEDxKLWomen, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxKLWomen event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

This independent TEDx event is operated under license from TED.
