TOC Automotive College (TOC) organised a special Hari Raya celebration for media and industry partners in Petaling Jaya recently.

Its chief executive officer, Adelaine Foo said that Hari Raya has always been a special occasion for her.

“It’s not just all about the lemang, ketupat, and satay that we all find so irresistible. Beyond all that I see love, unity and strength. These are the things that bond us. These are the things that make us Malaysian.

“And to my Muslim friends who have opened their homes to their friends and family of different races during Raya; do know that you too have opened doors to love, peace and harmony. You have opened doors to a better Malaysia,” she told guests at the event.

Guests were treated to delicacies such as lontong, rendang, dalca, roti jala, nasi tomato, Penang asam laksa and rojak.

While enjoying dinner, guests were entertained by Sentuhan Akustik Combination Band.

Foo also expressed her deepest gratitude to TOC partners for their unwavering support and hopes to continue working together in developing high-quality automotive talent.

“We now have alumni working in Singapore, Canada, New Zealand, Dubai, and one of them is now a trainer in BMW Malaysia.

“TOC was founded on the belief that everyone – no matter where you come from in life, deserves a chance to a proper education.

“That was the basis of why we introduced our TOC Scholarship Foundation. It has been two years since we started and I am proud to announce, a significant number of our students here today have benefited from it,” she said.

The TOC Scholarship Foundation was established in 2014 to provide Form Five school leavers from underprivileged families with professional automotive education and the opportunity to pursue a career in the vibrant local automotive industry.
