A COLLEGE chief executive officer has reminded her fellow working mothers to “always appreciate life and people around you” when addressing participants at a special event for women.

“In gaining momentum and maintaining velocity, women often forget to connect with their loved ones.

“Instead they waste away precious time to prove themselves worthy to others,” said The Otomotif College founder and CEO Adelaine Foo at TEDxKLWomen 2015.

Relating her own personal and professional experience, Foo said: “How much money do you need to teach your children the infinite pleasure of a hug?

“I’m not saying money is not important and I’m not encouraging you not to have drive. But don’t just focus on that. You have to practise R&R (rest and recharge).

“I urge you to be present. Don’t be in a hurry to check off all the lists on your timetable and forget the purpose of doing it all,” she said.

Foo established The Otomotif College in 2004, driven by her passion to provide the best learning experience in automotive and motorsports education and to change the perception of automotive mechanics in Malaysia.
