When buying a car, there are many factors to consider, and one of them, is safety. However, some buyers rather opt for exterior or performance; but then again, safety is priority especially when it comes to your own life. According to carbuyer.co, the way to measure a car’s safety is through crash test and each test scores in four different areas; adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, pedestrian protection and safety assistance.

This is one of the safest car Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) has tested this year. It has an overall five star rating and a 96% adult occupant score. This car also features a pedestrian monitoring system that alerts drivers if there are pedestrians at the side of the road. In worst case scenarios, the bonnet will pop up to reduce head injuries for pedestrian. The new five door coupe come with emergency assist 2.0 which senses it when the driver has gone unresponsive and takes over the whole mechanical system.

Volvo has always been known for one thing, “Safety”. Volvo has invented the three-point seatbelt in 1959 and that is stamped on the buckle of its cars. Until today, Volvo is still on the list. With no surprise, their ratings for all components are high. The E-class models are one of the safest cars on the road according to NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). The E-class offers high-tech occupant protection components that prepares the car for a crash. The active brake assist can warn the driver of imminent crash situations and it provides the right level of assistance in the event of sudden braking. There is also the car-to-X communication where an exchange of information on the mobile phone can be passed on to other vehicles further ahead of the road.
