[Petaling Jaya, 8 March 2017]: AUTOBACS SEVEN CO., LTD., Japan’s largest specialty retailer of goods and services for cars (AUTOBACS), has acquired stake in The Otomotif College (TOC), one of the pioneers in professional automotive and motorsports in Malaysia since 2004. Joining hands with the renowned Japanese giant to nurture higher qualified and skillful automotive technicians to the industry, Founder and CEO of TOC, Adelaine Foo and Director of AUTOBACS, Yugo Horii signed the agreement today at the TOC campus located in Petaling Jaya on 8 March.

Commenting on the partnership, Foo said, “TOC has grown from strength to strength over the years and we are truly excited to be embarking on this trusted and successful partnership with a renowned international brand as we enter into 2017. In this partnership, graduates from TOC will have the opportunity to work in AUTOBACS Group where they will be able to be exposed to the latest relevant trends in the motoring world and expectations in the automotive industry, especially in after sales service.

AUTOBACS solid background and proven track record sets the bar even higher for us to churn out only the best automotive technicians.

“There has always been an ambivalence between a graduate’s skill and an employer’s expectation. With this technical and best practices knowledge exchange collaboration, we strive to reduce and bridge the gap of the technical and skill expectations between industry and academia,” she added.
