In 2007, moviegoers were introduced to a rally yellow delight in the Michael Bay-helmed Transformers. Bumblebee, one of the most popular Autobots around, transformed itself into the Chevrolet Camaro, reintroducing the muscle car and subsequently making cinemagoers fall in love with a sleek but strong car. Fun fact: Bumblebee was supposed to transform into the Volkswagen Beetle, until the filmmakers decided to change it to the yellow Camaro you know and love.

Many anime and manga fans will be familiar with the Toyota Trueno AE86. Featured heavily in the street racing anime Initial D, the main character, Takumi Fujiwara uses his father’s AE86 Trueno apex hatchback for street drift racing and making his tofu deliveries.
