It is located at Sepang, close to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. With its modern and state-of-the-art facilities, it was given the honour to embody the F1 logo in its name. The circuit is designed by world-renowned architect, Hermann Tilke, who composed 65 tracks around the world, and apparently, there are more to come. The circuit is envisioned as a one-stop centre for racing teams, automotive industry leaders and successors, motorsports enthusiasts, car lovers, and those who have a passion for the motorsports scene.

Many events and concerts have been held at this arena, with its spacious outdoor space and modern vicinity. According to YBhg Dato’ Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali, the CEO of SIC, the team would like acquire different perspective from other well-known circuits, such as Silverstone and Nürburgring, serving as benchmark to Sepang International circuit as those tracks have a long history in the motorsports scene. Tan Sri Azman Yahya, Chairman of SIC, also added that, new and upgraded facilities will be installed at the International Sepang Kart circuit, as well as an Advanced Driving Experience Centre, which will be an important venue for motorsports in many years to come.

However, year 2017 marks the end of their journey with Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix, celebrating 19 years of F1 in Malaysia. It was a bitter-sweet moment for all motorsports enthusiast. With endings, there will always be new beginnings! The track is in a long-term plan of transformation into an integrated, multi-faceted motorsports hub over the next five years or so.

The TOC Motorsports Team (TMT) also joined in one of the events, organized by SIC, and garnered 3rd place in the Malaysian Championship Series under the Malaysia Car Category (MTC). Kudos to the brave team!
