Driving Safely in the Rain

We sometimes love the rain! Rain can be relaxing especially if we are in indoors. However, the rain can also be troublesome for certain things; driving and getting around outdoors. So drivers out there, be alert of your surrounding and focus! Slippery roads can be dangerous, therefore, the need to adjust your speed is also important. Turn on your headlights when it pours and maintain your wipers in a healthy condition. Many drivers tend to turn on the hazard lights while driving under the rain, however, that could only mislead other drivers on the road.

Most modern cars there days comes with cruise-control system. However, when it rains, turn off the cruise control and drive it manually as the chance for losing control of the car increases. However, when you experience a skid, do not PANIC! If you lose control, your car might spin out and hit other cars or divider. Be calm and steer in the right direction, avoiding slamming on the brakes to maintain control. When you approach a puddle, do not speed up! Instead, slow down as your tires will skim over the surface of the water, causing you to hydroplane. Hydroplane refers to a skid motion on a thin layer of water.
